The rice is spectacularly good, just as Lorna Sass promised in 'Great Vegetarian Cooking Under Pressure'. I will never cook brown rice any other way again! The pot is also simplicity itself to use, and cleans up very easily and quickly (and you don't have to wash the pressure cooker).My husband would never eat brown rice before tasting it cooked in the Ohsawa pot. Now he enjoys it. The pot is worth the money for this alone. I guess you can see that I love my Ohsawaa pot. Pat This review is from: OHSAWA� POT - SMALL The Ohsawa Pot is a MUST HAVE ! We are a family of 4 and I cook grains, beans, and rice on a weekly basis using a pressure cooker.Using the Ohsawa pot, I find items are cooked to absolute perfection and require less liquid. Be sure and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for adding liquids. Some of this will be trial and error. Even the best cook will need to experiment first. Through trial and error I found I had better results by NOT using a trivet to set the pot on. In my experience, the Ohsawa Pot will dance around in the pressure cooker. The movement left a few marks behind. While the marks don't affect the preformance of the pressure cooker, I prefer they not be there at all. This is simply an FYI, I highly recommend the pot. The Ohsawa Pot is a work horse like my pressure cooker (a Khun Rikon) and cleans up well. I put mine in the dishwasher.
