Neither pan sits flat on a level surface. The weight of the high quality handles causes the opposite side of the pan to raise up. The result is that the bottom surface of the pans won't rest evenly on my electric stove. So of course, food doesn't cook evenly.If the food you're cooking is heavy, it will weight the pan enough to level it. But even when cooking three eggs and a vegetable,(in the bigger pan), the food weight isn't enough to counteract the handle weight. I level the pan by putting something (maybe a salt shaker) under the handle end. Other than that, these are beautifully made, high quality skillets. And for the price, I can put up with having to prop up the handles. However, I hated my stove. The left front burner is a large one which never seemed to heat food adequately or as quickly as the right front burner. When I made a large breakfast recently I had to use the "bad" burner and decided to try my new circulon pan. I nearly scorched the food because the pan heated up so fast (and we usually cooked on High on that burner to compensate for the previous "poor heating". Obviously we no longer need to worry as this pan allows the heat to circulate throughout the bottom giving you an even cooking surface, temperature wise. Additionally these pans are truly non-stick! With scrambled eggs and grilled cheese just sliding out they are easy to wash and don't require any frivilous "soaking" time that my teens like to use. I would definitely recommend them. |
