I have owned one of these and two of the smaller dishes for about a year now and unfortunately have to say that I have not been very satisfied. I do not believe these are real copper and are instead some kind of metal covered with a copper looking coating.

The first time we used them, we placed the water in the base of the double boiler and heated it with a sterno. Everything went well and the guests seemed quite impressed with the look of the dish. However when when we went to clean the dishes that night the double boiler had turned white on all three units. We tried everything to clean it but the nothing worked, we then tried to buff it with brasso and slowly the copper just chipped away leaving a dark aluminum looking coating underneath. When I contacted the company about these not being copper I got some vague answer with the offer to "re-electrolyze" them again so that they get they original look.
